India recorded 39,361 fresh COVID-19 infections in a single day, with the total number of cases standing at 3,14,11,262, as per the Union health ministry data updated today.

The daily positivity rate was recorded to be more than 3% after a span of 35 days. A total of 416 deaths due to COVID-19 were reported in a day, taking the toll to 4,20,967. Active cases rose to 4,11,189 and constitute 1.31% of the total infections in the country. The nationwide COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 97.35%, stated the data updated at 8 am.

The active caseload has increased by 2,977 cases over 24 hours. In all, 11,54,444 tests were conducted on Sunday, with the total number tests conducted thus far standing at 45,74,44,011. The daily positivity rate has risen to 3.41%, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 2.31%.

The number of recovered individuals has increased to 3,05,79,106 and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.34%.

India has administered 43.51 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses thus far as part of the country-wide vaccination drive.
